The Mana is a long, segmented worm in brown-green or reddish tones, with a distinctive row of leg-like appendages running the length of its body.
It is noticeably thicker than the wild worm, with a body that holds the hook and survives the cast far better.
Its great asset appears after dark. Its fluids phosphoresce faintly in the water, leaving a dim trail that fish pick up from a distance.
That is why it is treated as a front-line bait for night fishing.

The Mana is baited in two ways, depending on the size of the target.
Threaded in sections: Cut the worm into pieces and thread them onto the hook one after the other, leaving a short tail hanging for movement. This is the choice for medium fish and when you want the bait to survive several casts.
Whole: When targeting Gilthead Seabream or European Seabass, thread the entire worm onto the hook. The bulk keeps small fish away and offers a mouthful worth a big fish's attack.
In strong current or on long casts, a few turns of elastic thread keep the body tight against the hook.
